The Ruggeds

Formed in Eindhoven, Netherlands, in 2005, The Ruggeds are a close-knit collective of breakers and theatre makers. Their individual personalities and movement styles are central to the work: performers move as a unit without losing the originality that makes each dancer distinctive.

The crew has won more than 200 breaking competitions and claimed its first world title at the UK B-Boy Championships in 2014. Screen credits include Justin Bieber's Where Are U Now music video and NBC's World of Dance, Season 2.

Their theatre journey began with a short version of Adrenaline at Breakin' Convention, Sadler's Wells, in 2015, followed by a US tour that included New York's Apollo Theater. Their productions have since reached audiences across the Netherlands, Europe, Canada and the UK.

Adrenaline draws on breaking, drum rhythms and battle culture, combining risk, acrobatics and spontaneity with an original soundtrack spanning jungle, hip hop, house and breakbeats. Their wider repertoire includes Between Us, State Shift, Decypher and Groove, the collaboration with Ghetto Funk Collective. Their work also explores the connection between breaking and live music, including improvised performances with jazz musicians.

Beyond performance, The Ruggeds help develop their scene through SITU, their creative venue in Eindhoven, and Jams & Gems, a festival celebrating hip hop culture, breaking, music and art.

For theatres, festivals and events seeking a distinctive breaking act, The Ruggeds bring competitive credibility, theatrical experience and a strong creative identity.
