Ghetto Funk Collective
Funk you can see, hear and feel. Ghetto Funk Collective brings locking, musicality and the character of authentic funk culture to the stage, with dancers and musicians creating a shared live experience.
Availability, fees, final line-up and production requirements are confirmed for each enquiry. Listed formats and running times are subject to the proposed booking.
Founded in Amsterdam by Ruben Chi and Roché Apinsa, the collective brings together dancers, DJs, producers, MCs and other creatives. Their work starts with music and feeling, combining individual expression with the connection and spontaneity of an ensemble.
Their performance history includes Breakin' Convention at Sadler's Wells, North Sea Jazz and the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix. Their screen work includes Jungle's Good Times / Problemz music video project.
In Groove, Ghetto Funk Collective collaborates with The Ruggeds on a dance concert spanning fifty years of funk, soul and hip hop. The collaboration brings their locking and funk identity together with The Ruggeds' breaking and theatrical experience.
Enquire about Ghetto Funk Collective as an act, or explore Groove as a separate show performed by both crews. ProDance will discuss the appropriate format, performers, music and production needs for your event; availability and practical details are confirmed individually.
