In the summer of 2019, ProDance Agency partnered with Longleat Safari Park to create "Australian Summer," a bespoke live entertainment experience celebrating the arrival of koalas at Koala Creek. Running from July 20 to September 2, the event featured daily performances, interactive workshops, and a vibrant finale, all designed to immerse guests in the spirit of the Australian outback.
Longleat Safari Park sought to commemorate the introduction of southern koalas—the only ones in England at the time—with a unique, engaging event. The goal was to craft an experience that would captivate visitors, highlight the new residents, and embody the essence of Australia.
ProDance Agency developed a dynamic show blending the raw energy of street dance with the rhythmic intensity of "Stomp"-style percussion. The performances featured dancers using unconventional instruments like bins and brooms to create compelling rhythms, mirroring the sounds of the outback. A bespoke song was composed to pay homage to the koalas, adding a melodic touch to the high-energy routines.
Each day, the event offered:
Freestyle Performances: Dancers roamed the park, delivering impromptu routines that surprised and delighted guests.
Children's Dance Workshops: Interactive sessions where young visitors learned dance moves and rhythms, fostering a hands-on connection to the theme.
"End of Day Hooroo" Finale: A culminating performance in the Main Square at 5:50 PM, combining the day's elements into a spectacular show.
"Australian Summer" successfully enhanced the visitor experience at Longleat Safari Park, providing entertainment that was both educational and exhilarating. The fusion of dance, music, and interactive elements created a memorable atmosphere that celebrated the park's new koala residents and offered guests a taste of Australian culture.
