Biography

Gianna Gi possesses a unique style, vision and approach to dance that has allowed her the opportunities to make a name for herself around the world. First and foremost, she believes movement is art. 

Her credits include: choreographing alongside Aaron Sillis and Kaner Scott for FKA Twigs ‘Soundtrack Seven’. Freestyling as a principle dancer for H&M x Balmain Fashion Show - as well as being featured in their commercial as one of the Twin Twins. Winning the international street dance festival IBE ‘Open Your Mind’ battle in the Netherlands. Dancing in the Nike x Sacai Launch, choreographed by Ryan Heffington (VMA Winner for Sia’s Chandelier) and performing her own solo work for the internationally known dance festival Breakin’ Convention in Sadler's Wells Theatre.  

Raised in Australia, she started dance at a young age training technically in numerous styles before focusing on Street Styles as a late teen. Graduating from the selective Art school Queensland Academy for Creative Industries in 2012, she had a rich upbringing in theatre, music and creative devising both in her home Brisbane and Internationally. 

At 18 she moved to Europe in order to pursue a career, subsequently becoming the first Australian to reach the World Finals of renowned street dance competition Juste Debout (Experimental) in Bercy, Paris. Now based in London she continues to work throughout Europe and the World. 

Gianna is the creator of JILTD, a creative collective made up of artists and thinkers dedicated to pushing dance within the arts. She is also a member of the kiki House of Lady Di - beginning to study Vogue in early 2015. 

Gianna has the utmost respect and love for the underground cultures that inspire her movement as well as a passion for all forms of Art, in particular work that is interdisciplinary. She will always strive to be honest, creative and innovative in her dance and artistic projects.
